Computer Learning Zone CLZ Access Excel Word Windows

Our academic system rewards people who know a lot of stuff... but at the end of the day who do you want: the person who can figure things out that they've never seen before or the person who can rattle off a bunch of facts?

Preferred Computer Vendor

Richard,

Just curious. In your business, have you standardized on any one computer vendor that you use? In other words, do you use Dell, HP, Samsung, etc? Also, do you use laptops more than desktops or the other way around? I just want to know what vendor you have had the most reliable experience with. Computers aren't cheap.

Thank you,
Bruce

For laptops, I generally stick with Toshiba. I've had very good luck with them over the years. I personally own two: a big one for my desk and a smaller travel one. My wife and kids all have Toshibas. No major problems with any of them.

For desktops, I generally build my own. I usually get a "barebones kit" from TigerDirect and assemble it myself. I don't like any of the major desktop brands. They always use custom parts - especially cases - that are a pain to work with. I like all plain vanilla components in my desktop PCs.

For years now I've been thinking about putting together a "how to build your own desktop PC" seminar, and I've actually taken step-by-step photos of me building my last TWO computers, but so far there just hasn't been enough interest for it on the Waiting List to justify the time of making the videos.
