Windows 11

Hello!

With the required switch to Windows 11 coming up, our company is preparing new PCs. However, were seeing significant performance issues with Access 2016 on Windows 11specifically compared to Windows 10.

The main issues are slow UI responsiveness and very sluggish form loading. Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks in advance for any insight!

No, I haven't seen any problems. In fact, I've got machines in my office running both my "server" PC (it's not really running Windows Server, it's still running Windows 10) and it runs just fine. All my laptops have Windows 11 on them and they run just fine.

Are these new machines that you purchased or are these old Windows 10 machines that you upgraded to Windows 11? Because I have seen some complaints online from people who had machines that barely were able to run Windows 10 and then they upgraded them to Windows 11 and now they're seeing some performance issues because that computer might not have been able to run Windows 10 properly in the first place. But if these are brand new machines, then there's something else you're probably missing that you got to look into.

At both my employer and in my private business, we have all switched to Windows 11 and we have not seen any problems. However, we are not using Access 2016, we are using Office 365.

Hi Dwight, are ALL PCs in your company having the same issue?  Are the slowdowns occurring on all Access databases (.accdb files) or just some databases?  Access 2016 is supposed to be compatible with Windows 11, but support will end on Oct 14, 2025 ( https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/products/access-2016 ).  So even if Access 2016 is indeed having problems with Windows 11, Microsoft will likely not fix it.
