Yeah, that's another great idea. One of these days when I get some free time, I'll sit down and add those. It's a lot of work for me to add those to the system. It's not just taking the graphic and sticking it on the website. I have to have a way for you to indicate that you need that badge. I wouldn't ask people to prove it.
Take the Trekkie badge, for example. You don't really have to pass a quiz to get the Trekkie badge; if you know any of the answers to those questions, I'll give you the Trekkie badge. If you know who Jim Kirk is, you can have the Trekkie badge - all you have to say is that you like Star Trek. It's not really a trivia contest.
But then I have to code it into my back-end database to allow it to add that badge, and I gotta edit the website. It's just that's a lot of work. It'd be a couple of hours of work for me to add new badges. Alex bugged me for years to get a Stargate badge, and I didn't have to go through all that because I literally just hard-coded in his customer ID into the website.
So it would be a lot of work for me to add that, but it would definitely be cool, and if I get some free time, I will add that. I'll stick a thumb tack on this.
Understood... I'm not trying to create more work for you. I do think recognizing the veteran stuff is highly regarded by others and creates a sense of appreciation. While I often do not take credit for being a veteran, I thought this would be a really good idea even for others on your site who have served. I just read a post today by Gary I think, who is also a veteran and would like to see people recognized.
It wouldn't be super difficult to make a veteran badge that covers all the armed services. I could just have you guys tell me that, hey, I'd like the veteran badge, and I can slap it on your account manually, that adds a little more work for me, but it's not too bad.
But then I know I'll get emails from people because I have students from almost every country on the planet. What about their armed services? So that just becomes weird.
But yes, I'm a proud American, and this is a US-based business, so I guess they can just deal. LOL.
But yeah, I will add this when I get some free time. At least one "US Veteran" badge. Got a few Vets in my family. My grandfather and my uncles served.

I appreciate all who served, so please extend my thanks to your grandfather and uncles. :)
