I can not open my check register. it says the app has a dangerous macro, it did open in a read only file.

Have you made your Check Register a Trusted File or placed it in a Trusted Location. If not watch the linked video to see how to save it to a trusted location.

If you've done that and it still won't open, you may have a situation where the file has "the Mark of the Web". Usually placing the file in a trusted location will resolve that, but, if not, right-click on the downloaded file and make sure read-only isn't checked and make sure to check the "Unblock" box next to the security warning if you're sure it's a file you can trust (if you downloaded it here, it's safe).

See this: Viruses in my Download Files

I guarantee that no files you download from my website have dangerous macros or viruses in them. It's probably an overzealous virus scanner. If you're using any kind of a third-party antivirus, I recommend disabling it, at least for your trusted folder that you run my access databases in.

I purchased the Check Register and it will not allow me to open it because it has macros. I have checked it to a trusted location and it still will not allow me to open it.

OK, we need more information to help you. When you say it won't open, what exactly do you see? Are you seeing an error message? If so, what is the exact error message? Can you post a screenshot so we can see what you're seeing? "It will not allow me to open" gives me zero information. I need more information to be able to help you. See: Please be more specific. See Rule #2.
