Windows 11 Improves Everyday Performance
TechNews

Microsoft's October 15 Windows 11 announcement highlights improvements to everyday performance, memory use and update controls. Changes cover familiar tools including Start, File Explorer, Search and Snipping Tool, rather than requiring users to learn a new application.

Microsoft says improved memory management can keep up to 2GB more active data in memory on 8GB PCs instead of moving it to slower storage. On PCs with 8GB or less, Widgets now load only when opened, freeing more than 200MB for other work. Actual results vary by device and workload.

The announcement also describes more control over update timing and fewer restarts, plus accessibility improvements such as separate Magnifier zoom levels on different displays. Availability and rollout timing vary. The redesigned Search interface with actions directly in results is still a Windows Insider feature, with broader rollout planned for later this year. See Microsoft's Windows 11 announcement for details and requirements.

Don't feel bad. I still have Windows 10 running on my "server" PC. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It just sits in the corner and runs an Access database on a loop all day long.

Ray , I am running 10 on a few machines and 11 on others.  I can't tell much difference.
