Microsoft is testing expanded Windows Search controls in its October 30 Windows 11 Insider update. The changes are rolling out gradually in the Experimental and Experimental (26H1) channels, not to all Windows 11 users.

Search can show sliders for volume, screen brightness and cursor size. With a supported Android phone connected through Phone Link, it also offers calling, texting and phone actions such as Do Not Disturb. File previews and details, including location and last-modified information, help identify documents before opening them.

This extends the redesigned Search experience introduced earlier in October. Microsoft cautions that Insider features can change or never reach general release. See the October 30 announcement and Experimental build notes for rollout details.
