Microsoft is testing a Windows Hello change that lets you enter a PIN without waiting for face or fingerprint recognition to finish. It appears in the November 6 Windows 11 Insider Experimental build 26340.9882. At certain times, including after a restart, a PIN is required before biometrics resume.

The same preview adds a choice of audio sources for Live captions: computer audio, microphone audio, or both. It also lets users dismiss future Sticky Keys and Filter Keys prompts directly from those dialogs.

These changes are rolling out gradually to Experimental-channel testers, not to all Windows 11 users. Preview features can change or never reach general release. See Microsoft's November 6 announcement and Experimental build notes for details.
