Science is more than a body of knowledge; it's a way of thinking. A way of skeptically interrogating the universe with a fine understanding of human fallibility.
Richard, at the risk of sounding psychiatrically suspect, I will admit that I am not a fan of testimonials. They have always sounded like commercials to me (duh, I guess they are). And Heaven knows how much I hate commercials! But nonetheless I wanted to submit, on my own, for audience consideration, my first-ever testimonial. Why? Because in point of fact, I think you, Richard, warrant a testimonial from me on the quality and merit of your teaching. Yes, you're that good! For why else would I choose to write a testimonial which goes against my nature to do? As a former State Mentor of student teachers, I think I am qualified to say that you clearly possess the hallmark features of an effective and highly competent classroom instructor. For example, you are a clear speaker, know your field of study thoroughly, use visual aids, apply principles of sequential learning, give proper beginnings and closures to your lessons, implement encouragement and positive reinforcement techniques, pace yourself comfortably, emanate warm classroom feeling tone, generate energy and excitement, demonstrate admirable organizational skills, and the list goes on. In short, Richard, you are a terrific teacher! You deserve this testimonial from me! End of story.
