Hello Richard,I was given 4 PC's without the hard drives. Later on the person found the drives and gave them to me. My question is this,Is there a way to tell which drive came from which computer?
The drives all have windows XP on them and I am told that if they are not installed in the original PC , they will not go online.

There isn't a way to tell just by looking at them. However, if each of the PCs has a different hardware configuration (motherboard, video card, etc.) then you might be able to figure out that way. Boot up the PC with the drive and then look at what drivers are installed. It may be easier for you to just wipe the drives and install a fresh, clean copy of Windows, though. Good luck.
