I was wondering if there was a way to restore a computer back to the factory settings if you have lost the CD? I have a basic understanding of computers but i am unaware if a solution to a problem like this exists. Any insite would be helpful

Joe, if you lost the software CD that came with your computer, then the only thing you can really do is contact the manufacturer (or check their web site) and see if you can get another copy.

Some PC manufacturers are putting an "image" of your Windows and driver discs on the hard drive, so you can make your own CDs out of them… but not every vendor does this.

Basically, it all depends on your PC.
