My computer crashed and had the "Best Buy Geek Squad" people reinstall everything.

Of course they're going to try and sell you some anti-spyware software. That's what they do.

I don't generally recommend ANY of these anti-spyware programs. Just don't download files from web sites that you're not sure are 100% safe, and don't open unsafe email attachments. That's my personal recommendation. Once you get some junk on your PC, it's very hard to remove all of it. I recommend keeping a fresh backup copy of of your original PC configuration, and of course perform a good nightly or weekly backup. If your PC gets infected, just restore your backup image.

That's my personal recommendation.
