Hi Richard...a friend suggested he load windows 7 on my comp. I didn`t like it and my computer ran slow. I tried  to go back to xp. after it loaded and tried to restart I get a black screen saying ole file is missing. I can`t  get past that screen. Is my computer shot? do you have any sugestions? Thank-you Debbie

Answer from Richard Rost:

I don't recommend changing operating systems unless you FORMAT the drive and install a FRESH copy of Windows. If you've tried to install a Windows 7 upgrade and then roll it back to XP, you're probably going to have to wipe it and install a clean copy of XP. You could TRY to boot into safe mode (or command prompt mode) and copy that file from another PC, but that's probably not going to work. And, no, I don't recommend running Win 7 on older machines. If XP works, stay with it until you buy new hardware.
