I've got a colleague whos just done a charity thing where a group of them bench press an amount over a set period of time (Usually max 6 hours).
For example, last year, they bench pressed the statue of liberty - 225 tons. This year they did a fully fueled boeing 747 at 298 Tons.
Looking for new ideas for next year. Its actually quite hard since most things are outside the range. Thinking around the 200-500 tons mark. Needs to be a famous landmark/vehicle... something everyone can visualise.
Cheers!
p.s. There was a group that did the titanic which (I THINK) is the world record done by professional trainers. These guys are very much out of shape hence the range!!!
208 Tonnes, equivalent to the american 229 Tons! Not bad. Been there too - my parents live up in the harsh reaches of "The North"!

You know your geography! Great ideas, esspecially like the Stonehenge one but ideally 1 object, rather than a quantity. Gives it that much more wow factor. Thumbs Up!
"The blue whale is the largest animal on the planet, weighing as much as 200 tons (approximately 33 elephants). The blue whale has a heart the size of a Volkswagen Beetle. Its stomach can hold one ton of krill and it needs to eat about four tons of krill each day."
