I've been working on adding Syntax highlighting on some tutorials I've been making for my website. I've used SyntaxHighlighter [http://alexgorbatchev.com/SyntaxHighlighter/], which offers a lot of languages and some nice styling.
This got me thinking about written examples and I did a bit of searching and found an easy way to highlight code for the handbooks, which you can copy into Word.
If you use Notepad++ the highlighting is automatic once you've saved the document (given the file ext) or you can select from the |Language| tab and choose your language and it will change it that way to. Then select the |Plugins| tab and |NppExport| then |Copy all formats to clipboard| You can now paste the whole page or the selected content into word and the formatting (inc the color!) will copy over too making the guide look all the better.
Hope this is of some use. Regards Alex
