I am trying to highlight cells for gear inspections that are older than 6 months from the date of last inspection.  For example I have a helmet inspected 1 Jan 11 and gloves inspected 1 Oct 10.  I want to have the second inspection show red. Thanks, Cory.

Go to Conditional Formatting > Highlight Cells Rules > Less Than. In the value box put:

=TODAY()-180

That's the easiest way to get "close enough" to six months ago. If you need it EXACTLY six months ago, put:

=DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),MONTH(TODAY())-6,DAY(TODAY()))
