Dear Sirs, may I ask for a little help? I'm putting together a little spreadsheet of baseball stats for the daily games, and what I'd dearly love to be able to do is to have Excel automatically go out on the web to a specific site, find a specific figure, and plonk it in a cell back in my sheet.
Basically, here's what I've got:

(1) In Column B, I've got the starting pitchers last names for all the games that will be played today (and whether they're a lefty or a righty). ie:

Fister (R)
Sabathia (L)
Niese (L)
Cueto (R)
Duffy (L)
Miller,A (L)

... and so on and so on.

(2) There's a number I enter manually in column Q which initiates a whole bunch of calculations. What I'd like to do is, have the cells in column T check for a non-blank value in the corresponding cell in column Q. When it detects that it's not blank, it goes and connects to a webpage in search of the specific stat to grab.

(3) I'm looking for the "Opponents Batting Average" for the pitcher which is specified back in column B. Specifically, my sheet would have to go out to the webpage http://espn.go.com/mlb/schedule which is the schedule and starting pitchers for today's games. Once there, it would need to do a search for the pitcher's last name (from column B). Once it finds it, that pitcher's name is a clickable link to go to the specific stat page for that pitcher. So the sheet would have to navigate that link and go to that page. Once there, it would be looking for the figure under "BAA" (at the far right) in the row "2011 regular season". So for example for "Sabathia", it would return the number ".235".

...phew, a lot to ask, I know. Is that even possible with Excel?
