I have created a calander for users who are not so excel friendly. One thing I am trying to do is creat an index sheet. This index sheet will contain codes most commonly used to designate events. IE LV = leave SD = sickday etc. Now to simplyfy things for the users I wanted to use my index sheet as a basis for my conditional format. Im doing this in vb because of all the changes that are made on a daily basis the conditional ranges  inadvertently get changed as well. So now to the nitty gritty. I can get the color value using this formula:

MVAL=worksheets("Index").range("A1").interior.colorindex

and set it to a case

Case "LV": Mcolor = MVAL

But I want to be able to loop through each cell a1-? and get the color value and apply it to the corresponding case.

As I am not very familiar with loops any help would be greatly appreciated.
