I have created a calander for users who are not so excel friendly. One thing I am trying to do is creat an index sheet. This index sheet will contain codes most commonly used to designate events. IE LV = leave SD = sickday etc. Now to simplyfy things for the users I wanted to use my index sheet as a basis for my conditional format. Im doing this in vb because of all the changes that are made on a daily basis the conditional ranges inadvertently get changed as well. So now to the nitty gritty. I can get the color value using this formula:
