One glance at a book and you hear the voice of another person, perhaps someone dead for 1,000 years. To read is to voyage through time.

255 Character Limit Linked Tables

I've linked a spreadsheet to my access database, but my "notes" field in my TBL gets cut off after 255 characters. I can see the whole note in the original linked table, but it won't translate to my access table. I've tried changing it to long text, but nothing happens. I've got things set up to "Review" differences and it's hard to discern real changes because it pulls up the cut off note and the original entire note/message. Anyone know how to fix it?

Increase the row height in the table to allow multi-line display.  If the row height is only single line, it may look like the long text is cut off.

Check out the Zoom video.  Specifically the extended cut.  That show how to control what size the box is when you click on it in a form.

Hi, neither of those solutions worked. What I ended up having to do was an update query into a new field that changed the original criteria of the linked table from Short Text to Long Text (rich). I'm not working with forms. Either way, the issue was resolved, just took a few extra steps.
