Do the "free classes" under the platinum membership have a time limit? If I wanted to do two videos in a day, can I do that? I've noticed that the silver and gold can only have like one a month. It seems to be more cost effective to join instead of purchasing everything separately.

Check out the Tech Help Membership page. Platinum gets 1 free developer class per month as well. I think the Learning Connection is probably what you're looking for. It's 50% off and you can do as many as you like.
All of the TechHelp memberships (Silver, Gold, Platinum) give you one free course per month up to your membership level (Silver = Beginner, Gold = Expert, Platinum = Developer). You have to take them in order. If you cancel your membership, you lose any and all FREE perks you received, including these classes.
The Learning Connection is a discount membership where you can get a new class every week (or at whatever interval you like) at a 50% discount. These never expire. You can take them as fast as you want.
If you're in no hurry to learn, the TechHelp memberships are very cost effective. If you're happy with one class per month, then just stick with that. Start at the Silver level at $5.99, finish the Beginner series, then upgrade to Gold ($9.99) and finish the Expert series. Then upgrade to Platinum and finish the Advanced and Developer lessons. It will take you (9+32+6+45) almost 8 years to complete them all, but it's the least expensive way to do it. Plus you also get the other perks: extended cut videos, Code Vault, etc.
Also as either a Platinum member or a Learning Connection member, you get a 50% discount on anything else you'd like to purchase (courses, seminars, templates). So you can pick up the other lessons at a faster pace that way too.
Lots of options.
