From Anne: "Every month we receive a database with virtually 65,000 or so lines and every month I have to delete thousands of lines I do not need and they aren't scattered just say ...the first 20,000 rows. How can I delete them quickly without having to highlight and scroll for 15 mins. Is there a way to pick a range and delete? Thanks for any help you can give - I appreciate your time." Richard's Reply: You can quickly select the first 20,000 rows with the GOTO feature. On the Home Tab in the Editing Group, Click on Find & Select, Goto...
Now, in the "Reference" box type in the range of rows you want to select. In your case:
1:20000
That will select rows 1 to 20,000. Now you can just right-click on them and select Delete. This also works with columns, too. You can type in:
A:E
to select the first 5 columns. Hope this helps.
