WalkThru - Install From CD

As of April 2013, we no longer support the Amicron Video Player. You may download and use it, but we will no longer be supporting it. Click here for instructions on how to download your video files directly.

CHECK YOUR CD FOR DAMAGE. When you receive your CD in the mail, first check it over for any physical damage. if your CD appears broken or scratched in any way, DO NOT put it in your drive. Immediately package it back up and write "return to sender" on it. Just send it back to us and we'll get you another one right out. You can contact customer service if you need one sent out faster. Remember, while you're waiting for your replacement CD, you can always watch your lessons in our Online Theater.

When you first place your CD in the drive, our software should AutoRun and start up automatically. You might get a Windows security warning saying that a program is trying to run from your CD drive. That's expected. Just click OK or ALLOW.

If our program does NOT start up automatically, open your Computer (or My Computer, depending on what version of Windows you have) icon. Windows Vista and Windows 7 users will have to click on the START Button and then Computer. Now open up the icon for your CD/DVD drive. Now double-click on the program icon that says "VideoPlayerSetup." You may not see the ".exe" after the name. Don't worry about that.

Once our software starts installing, you should then see a screen like this:

Click on Next. Read over and agree to our License Agreement. Pretty simple stuff. The "Plain English" version of it can be found here: License Agreement. Click "I Agree." The software will copy files to your hard drive, and you'll see the following. Click on "Open Video Player."

This part is very important...

When the software loads for the first time, you will be asked to register. This is important for a couple of reasons. First, it gets you on our mailing list to be notified of any new releases, but most importantly, it allows you to automatically log on to your account on our web site and download your courses without having to type in any passwords. You'll see how in a moment. For now, type in your name, email address, and the password you used when placing your order. Make sure you're online when you click Submit.

If you don't have an Internet connection when you install the Video Player, you won't be able to register. That's OK. You'll just need to type in the passwords for your courses manually, as shown below.

If for any reason you skipped that step (above) and didn't register your software, then click on the REG (Register) button at the bottom of the video player to do so now. If you don't register your software, you'll need to manually type in the individual course installation passwords for EACH course you purchase. More on this later.

Next, you should see the following welcome video, and hear me saying "congratulations, you have successfully installed the Amicron Video Player." If you don't see the video or hear any sound, check our Troubleshooting section.

If you are also online and connected to the Internet when you install the software (which I highly recommend) you will also see an additional welcome message pop up to the right of the video. This is where the interactive student forums will appear while you're watching lessons so you can ask questions, see what questions other students have asked, and read answers!

Go ahead and close this Video window and you should see the Courses on CD menu. This is because you have a CD in your drive and our software has detected 599 Courses on it.

Go ahead and double-click on any one of those courses now to install it (or click once on it and click on the Install button). Again you will see our setup screen. Click Next, and I Agree. You will now see the Password screen for this course.

Now this is VERY important. If you are NOT online while doing this, and you did NOT register your software, you will need to type in the 16-character (or thereabouts) password that is specific to THIS CLASS. This is NOT your user password. Each course file has it's own password that you need to install the videos. Normally, if you're online and logged in, our web site will automatically send this password to your computer. If you're not online and logged in, you need to type it in yourself. Now, a list of all of your course passwords should have been emailed to you as soon as you completed your 599CD order. If not, you can get them by logging on to your account on our web site. Click here if you need more help on finding your course passwords.

Once you have your course password, type it in here (or you can copy and paste it from your account screen or the email that we sent you, if you know how).

Once you type the password in correctly, the course will begin installing. When it's finished you will see the "Installed" note appear next to it.

You can now continue to install your other courses, or close this window to go to the Main Menu. Note that there may be more courses on your CD than you actually purchased. This is why they all have passwords. Our "Access Combo" CD for example contains almost ALL of our Access classes. Even if you only purchased 2 or 3 of them, you'll probably get the CD with all of them. The good thing about this is that you can purchase more courses now without having to have another CD shipped to you (no wait, no more shipping charges).

Now your software is intalled and ready to be used. Close the "Courses on CD" menu to go to the Main Menu. You will see all of your courses. Just double-click on them to watch them and enjoy.
