I dont know what Facebooks problem isLink Richard Rost 9 years ago
I've tried everything I can think of to figure out why Facebook won't let you LIKE the news/blog pages. It must be the dynamic URL (pages with a ? in them) because every other page works fine. I even used Facebook's Diagnostic Tool and it says everything is OK. Damn Facebook.

Excel Tip Sum Cells Between Two ValuesLink Mubeezi Micah 9 years ago
Hi Richard,
I tried to click the Facebook LIKE button such that i share this free tip with my friends/networks. However, it generated an Error. Perhaps you can fix it. Thanks
Micah, thanks for trying to share, but it must be a Facebook problem. That used to work fine, but now FB is generating an Error. I suspect it's a problem with the QUERYSTRING (the little bit after the ? in the URL that tells the server parameters). All of my blog, news, forum, and student pages are filled by the same ASP page: display-article.asp. The code after it "?ID=222" tells the site which article/page to display.
I tried feeding Facebook all three versions, but it doesn't like any of them. The second two are the same page, but they use URL shortening or add the description to the URL (for search engine benefits).
So either Facebook is disallowing URLs that have querystrings now (they used to allow them) OR they're just having a problem. The Google+ button works OK (even though nobody uses G+ it seems). I'll give it a day or two and see if the problem persists. If so, I'm just going back to a standard "share this on FB" button that isn't automated like the current LIKE button. I think the current (new) button slows the site down.
