Microsoft says skill builder and clean data in Copilot for Excel began rolling out to general availability in October. Its October 12 announcement describes tools for turning recurring spreadsheet work into reusable instructions and spotting data-quality problems before analysis.

With skill builder, users can describe a workflow, provide earlier prompts, or share examples of finished work to create a reusable skill. Clean data can identify issues such as inconsistent country names, incorrect data types, formatting differences, and duplicate records, then explain the problems and suggest corrections.

The announcement includes other features with different availability: interactive canvas is currently in Insiders, skill recorder is planned for Insiders by the end of October, and get data is scheduled for general availability in mid-October through the web app. Those schedules do not mean all of these features are available to every user today.
