Microsoft now lists Copilot skill recorder as generally available in Excel for the web. The October 27 Excel update, revised October 29, confirms availability after earlier announcements described a planned rollout. On Windows, skill recorder remains an Insider feature.

Skill recorder follows the steps you demonstrate while handling a recurring spreadsheet task and turns them into a reusable skill. The aim is to let Copilot repeat an established workflow rather than requiring you to describe the same process each time.

Microsoft also confirms that the get data skill is available to web users. It can connect to a data source, transform the information and load it through Power Query, leaving a query you can inspect, edit and refresh. Some sources require authentication.

These are Copilot capabilities, not changes to traditional VBA macros. See Microsoft's October Excel update for the feature-by-feature availability details.
