Microsoft has rereleased Excel 2016 update KB5002934 with a fix for paste operations that could fail in workbooks containing conditional formatting. The corrected build is 16.0.5574.1006, replacing the original 16.0.5574.1005 release, which had reintroduced the problem.

The updated package retains the security fixes from the original October update. Microsoft lists the revised download as published October 29. If copying appears to work but pasting does nothing, check the installed Excel build rather than relying on the KB number alone, since both releases use KB5002934.

This package applies to the Windows Installer (MSI) edition of Excel 2016. It does not apply to Click-to-Run editions such as Microsoft 365. See Microsoft's KB5002934 details for the affected build, corrected version and official update options.
