I have Excel 2000 and looking for a formula to search an area of the worksheet for a name and use the information in a cell next to it if that makes sense.

Example - cell C1 would have the name 'Woods' in it.  C2 below would have a formula that would use the name in C1 and reference an area from E40 to I100 looking for that name and use the number entered to the right of that cell as a number to be entered back in C2.

It's not homework it's making a pool easier instead of entering the number each time.
