I am using Excel 2003 and I need help.  I have one range in worksheet named "Management" (H2:H170) and another range in a second worksheet named "Demographics" (A44:A63).  I would like to match and count cells that are the same without counting the blank cells.  What formula can I use to accomplish this?  Thanks for the help.

Well, what kind of values are in these cells? The COUNT function only counts cells with numbers. COUNTA counts text values. COUNTBLANK counts blank cells.

Now, if you perform your MATCH operation, you'll get either a number or an N/A error. You could then just use COUNT on this result list because COUNT will not add in your error cells - where values are missing.

I'd need more information on exactly what you're trying to do, with a sample of your data, to be of more help.
