I work in a call center where I have to email groups of data in Excel to the main company. We just had Office 2007 installed and the main company did not. Now when I send emails to the main company, they are having problems opening the Excel database. I have had to copy the data to Word and email the word document for them to be able to open it.

The file format has changed in Excel 2007. To send your Excel 2007 file to someone who is still using Excel 2003 or earlier, just make sure you SAVE your file in the older format.

Click on FILE (Office Button) then Save As. In the drop-down box that says "Save As Type" pick "Excel 97-2003 Workbook." Now they should have no problems opening the file.
