Many to Many from Excel Table

I'm working with a few thousand manufacturing parts and there are 125 different characteristics each with their own tolerance values.
I know now that it should be a many to many relationship between the parts and the tolerances, with each individual value in the junction table, but I don't know how to do it. the issue is I am converting from an Excel sheet that has it already laid out in columns and rows, and I need to get it into this format efficiently as its too much data to just copy and paste. Also, thanks for the help in the past and responding so quickly.

To efficiently convert your data from an Excel sheet into a many-to-many relationship format, such as a junction table, you can follow these steps:

1. Create a new table for your junction table. This table will establish the relationships between parts and tolerances. You can give it meaningful column names such as "PartID" and "ToleranceID" to indicate the relationships.

2. Identify the unique parts and tolerance values from your Excel sheet. Create separate tables for parts and tolerances if they don't exist already. Assign unique IDs to each part and tolerance value. These IDs will be used as foreign keys in the junction table.

3. Map the relationship between parts and tolerances. Iterate through each row in your Excel sheet and extract the relevant data. For each part and tolerance combination, retrieve the corresponding IDs from the parts and tolerances tables.

4. Insert the mapped data into the junction table. For each part and tolerance combination, insert a new row into the junction table using the respective IDs retrieved in the previous step.

By following these steps, you can efficiently convert your Excel sheet data into a many-to-many relationship format using a junction table. This approach ensures that each part can have multiple tolerances, and each tolerance can be associated with multiple parts.
