Just received an Email from CodeProject.

Snipping Tool is getting the ability to recognize and copy text from screenshots. It is currently in the Preview Channels for Window Insiders and according to the article should be rolled out to everyone in the next couple of weeks.

Exciting stuff.

Sweet! I've been using DocSumo for that, but it would be nice if it was all in one tool.

Here is a screenshot for the Text Recognition tool. It works really well. 1. The original image 2. The image in Snipping Tool with the Text Actions activated. I selected the text and right clicked to bring up the context menu. 3. I pasted the copied text to Notepad.

Very cool I don't have those options yet. I've actually been using Google to do text OCR. I just screen capture with the hypersnap tool I've been using and then you paste it into Google's image search window and it pulls out all the text.
