I got five beginner-level questions for you about Access forms. You'll have three seconds to answer each one, so if you need more time, pause the video and keep track of your score as you go. Let's see how you do.
The T-Rex is staying behind the fence. Hopefully.
Question 1.
Which form property tells Access which table or query supplies its records? Record source, record source, caption, or default view?
That's going to be option B, the record source.
Question 2.
You drag a short text field from Add Existing Fields onto a blank form in Design View. What normally appears?
A new table and a query, a label containing every record, an unbound text box only, or a bound text box and an attached label.
That'll be D, a bound text box with an attached label.
Question 3.
You want to remove an attached label but keep its text box on the form. What should you delete?
Only the label, only the text box, the field in the table, or both controls, then save the form.
That's going to be A, only the label.
Question 4.
A form has a large unused area below its controls. How can you reduce that space in Design View?
Make every text box taller, delete records from the table, drag the bottom edge of the detail section upward, or change the form's record source.
You just drag that bottom edge of the detail section upward, get rid of all that extra space.
And question 5.
You change an editable text box's background to gray. What does that change do by itself?
Prevents users from typing in it, changes its appearance but does not prevent editing, changes its field to AutoNumber, or removes it from the tab order.
Well, that just changes its appearance, but it doesn't prevent editing.
All right, how'd you do? Did you get 5 out of 5? Are you the one who saved the park and all its customer data? Or the one who became the snack on the guided tour?
Well, if you missed any, these topics and more are covered in Access Beginner Level 1 Lesson 11, all about building the customer form, Part 2.
That's completely free. You'll find the link down below.
Thanks for playing. Post your score in the comments, and let me know if you spotted the penguin hiding from the T-Rex.
And until next time, live long and prosper.Intro
