Form Tech Help I Cant Seem to Relocate
Steve Nelis

A while back, I ran across a tech help video that (I think) showed how to display a field from a related table in a form without dropping a form in as a sub-form. If I remember correctly, one could have many related fields from multiple related tables if desired without multiple subforms by formatting a/some property(ies) of the form.  I recall Richard saying "~ I use it all the time, so much so that it has become like second nature, I don't even think about it, etc..."   Which keywords do I use in the search to relocate it or its title?
(I can't say it was a waste of time scrolling thru the list, item by item, since so many titles & descriptions interest me, but let's just say I'm hesitant to say how long this search has taken so far) TIA

Do you mean like just a textbox that gets a value from a field in another table? Like with DLookup?

Thanks Adam, a textbox on a form rings a bell, and getting a value from a field in another table is exactly what piqued my interest.

So yea, that could be done with a query possibly if the records are related, or it could have been one of the domain functions (which there are a lot of videos on). These are just a few. All are similar in that they are able to retrieve a value (or information about) from another table and display it in something like a text box.

DLookup
DMax
DMin
DCount
DSum

Yea, I've got a choo-choo train of probably over-normalized tables, so the to-do list will probably get helper tables and DLookup (or something similar) once I get farther in the coursework.  Thnks again!
