Being Edited By

Is there a way to determine who the record is being edited by? I would like to be able to put the person's name into the record locked label. One way I can think of is using Environ("Username") to capture who is editing that record and storing it someplace, maybe in an empty field. Which, as I'm typing this, seems like the easiest way to go about it. I was just curious if there is a property that already stores that information within Access. I asked ChatGPT and it says Access doesn't do that, but I also wanted to ask humans. :)

Thank you Sami! Unfortunately that method wouldn't work while records are being edited, but it does remind me about other logging methods that I can use in my database. :)

Richard shows how to log activity in your database in his Access Security Seminar (Lesson 36).

Thank you Kevin! Yeah, I'm still playing around with what level or detail I'd like for logging changes. I've got one database where it has a single record for each individual field change. And I've got another one that I'm trying out where it has all of the fields that can be changed in one record so it logs what it was, along with duplicated fields with a "C" at the beginning of the name for what it was changed to, in the same record. Just to see if I like that possibility. Playing around. :)
