Access Desk Mats
Richard Rost

I found a company that custom prints desk mats. I'm thinking of making a cool mat with all of the shortcut keys, helpful tips like an empty recordset code loop, that kind of stuff.

I have two questions for everyone:

1. Would this be something you'd be interested in?

2. What would YOU like to see printed on it?

I've seen a few others out there for Excel users, but none for Access.

Thoughts?

Maybe access functions, like Dlookup, like Dlookup("MyField", "MyTable", "MyTableRecordID=" & MyFormRecordID).  It could be just an example of syntax for quick reference.  You could focus on which functions instigate the most questions in the forums.  Alternately, you could have a glossary of "proper" database vocabulary.  That might appeal more to beginner & expert levels.  Or the rules of Acquisition...

I would probably get one or two of the largest size you have available.  (my desks often double as a workbench.)

All the shortcut and function keys that I can't remember.

A month or 2 late for me.... but great idea. I prefer the mat over a mouse pad to be honest.  Record Sets, DLoopup, the IIF.  Double Double Quotes.  And... Ferengi rules of acquisition....

Heck ya! Great idea! I would put your Save, Close, Open and Decompile once in a while across  the top or bottom maybe next to your Logo. I like Thomas and Matt's suggestions as well.

I would like to see added the layout for the nested subform, like today's techhelp video

A lot of suggestions Richard. You'll need a Desk Matt the size of a snooker table. LOL

Screw desk mat... we're going straight to wallpaper. :)

Oooh, how about a tapestry to hang in the great hall or the atrium. :)

I'll be honest- I would not buy a desk mat. If I could upload a picture of my desk you could see that it is filled with keyboard, coffee cups, papers, etc. I'd have to move stuff around to see anything.

I would definitely buy a desk mat (or two for a future desk expansion project).  I love all the suggestions.  While I love the "Rules of Acquisition", I would prefer to see your "Words of Wisdom" list instead.

I love the wall paper idea, but I don't have a "man cave" and my boss (i.e. Spouse) would not let me wallpaper the "office".  LOL!!!  Now a nice tapestry with Admiral Rost in the center, surrounded by some starships, computer consoles, and displays showing recordsets, IIF, Case, "Words of Wisdom", etc. would be a welcome addition to the "office" wall.
