Between Dates

What am I doing wrong? I have query called AvailablePropertyQ.
I enter a StartDate & EndDate eg. 4/10/25 - 7/10/25, while it does show me the properties not between these dates, it shows all the properties with dates outside the entered dates returning 12,706 records.

Sorry, rephrase it shows me every booking ever made for the property that is not booked between those dates.

Because you have Not in front of your criteria.

I want it to show me all available properties during the time frame selected.

AMENDED: I enter a StartDate & EndDate eg. 4/10/25 - 7/10/25, while it does show me the properties not between these dates, it shows all the bookings for that property outside  the selected time frame. It does not show Properties that are booked, which is good.

Michelle  Try this:

Criteria for ArrivalDate
    <[Enter Start Date]

Criteria for DepartureDate
    >[Enter End Date]

Are you putting these into parameters? Where do you get the start date and the end date?

Bill From ArrivalDate & DepartureDate

try kevin's solution.   Also verify that in the table that the date fields are date fields and not text

Bill They are DateTime fields. If you look at Michelle's screenshot above, they are right-aligned.

I figured they were.  But they could be text fields that are also right aligned. But I could be wrong.

That's a bit more complex a problem than first appears. It'll need a booked day number table or something similar ie you'll need to relate which day numbers ( day of the year ) is allocated to which customer. Then filter dates  with non booked day numbers.
Maybe there's a better way of doing it but it's just how my mind thinks about the problem.
