After creating the search button and named as Find Record, when I try to activate it is shows and error saying it cannot be opened now. This is my last step for my database. Any ideas how to fix this? Ken

Please be more specific. See Rule #2.
Show the code you have behind this.

Sami, I followed the instructions given in the video and used the button wizard. This is what I found by right-clicking on the button and opening the event. I hope this helps because that is all I did to create this button: I followed the video.

Show the form where you put the button. And the other thing is, what field are you on when you click that button?

This form does not have any fields that you can do a find on. That's why you're getting the error.

Trying to get the button to open my Search Form that is connected to the SearchQ. It may not be possible, but I would like to have that working so it would be easy to get to that form. Since it is an unbound button form, the wizard will not allow it.

Suggestions?

If you want a button to open a form, then create a button that opens a form. Once the form is open, you can put another button that does the search.

Ken it looks like you've got as far as Developer Lesson 15. What you are trying to do is far easier using VBA code.

Sami is there a video that would explain that. because the Search Form has buttons that are unbound and then getting information from the Search Q to open and show me the information.

Thank you, Sami! I appreciate your assistance on this. I a in the process of the Relationship Seminar and finally got that under control, I hope. I've also been reviewing all 3 of the others you mentioned, too.

Best of luck!
Best advice is to go through the access courses in order.
