I have a product table with the product # as PK, I have another table that I will have that as a FK. I am drawing a blank and hav8ng trouble locating the video to show what I want to to. I dont want to look up the id every time to choose the correct item. I want to see the ID and text to choose the right one. Can anyone help?

Are you thinking of something like a combo box that a person can open to see the list of products and the product name? Somthing like Relational Combo

If you didn't want the drop down, you could also make it as a list box that shows a given number of rows.

That’s what I’m thinking but I don’t know recall where to find how to create a combo box between tables. As long as I can get the chosen item from the one table to the other table.

Putting a combo box directly on a table is not a good idea. It's better to create a form with the table's fields and then have the combo box there.

As you develop your database out, lookup fields in tables can create be very difficult to work with. They're easy to add but hard to work with down the road when you need to use code or macros.

Your best bet is to have a product table if pk and fk are both products.  You can add a field called producttype or something like it to contain pk or fk.  Then all you need to do is filter the ones you need when you need them.  Only if the products will far exceed the limits of an access table do you need to worry about that but you'll never need to move from table to table when you think you do.

I have it figured out now. Some reason I always think of working with the tables instead of using the forms to get the data to the table. After Mr. Blackwell pointed out his points I realized what I was doing wrong after watching videos again. Thank you all for your help
