Dear Colleagues,

Over the past month, I’ve completed beginner through expert level 2 Access courses and am now applying this knowledge to my Line 3 Titration Log project, which will replace a paper form.

I’ve started building the main data entry form: L3DataEntryF.

The structure includes:

L3ShiftT (Parent): Stores technician, shift, and header info.

L3LogT (Subform): Stores titration stage data, collected every two hours.

L3StageT (Subform): Logs screen cleanings and manual additions.

I'm struggling with how best to incorporate these three tables. I’ve tried both Tabs and a Navigation form for the L3LogT subform but am unsure which approach fits better.

For context, titration readings are taken every two hours starting at 7:00 AM until shutdown. Currently, only first shift runs, but second shift may be added later.

Any suggestions or examples would be greatly appreciated!

Best regards,
Greg Seiber

Hi Greg,
what are the relationships between your tables? Which Primary Key and Foreign Key do you use? Something like ShiftDateID? Do you need always to see L3StageT subform? If no, you can make separate L3StageT form or make this subform invisible and "call" it with a button.

Also, probably you don't need all these ca. 25 forms based on 3 tables. For the differint additions (phosphate, sealers, cleaners) is better to have the separate table, and for the different stages in the middle subform I'd prefer to use only 1 source form without tabs to get view of several stages at the same time without extra clicks.

I guess I'm confused at the relationship between these tables. Are they related at all, or are they just three things logging different stuff?
