New Record on a Form
Lee Shastid

I am using this code that Richard provided to me at one time to go to next record. It goes to the next record (to the ID field). Is it possible to have it go to the Brand Name field instead of the ID box? Thank you in adavance

docmd.gotorecord,,acNewRec ' To go to a new record
docmd.gotorecord,,acNext ' To to to the next record in the recordset

either way, then just use FieldName.setfocus

Alex I didn't think of that. Especially when I just did that to a form and subform. I will get there someday. But definitely not to some of yalls level.

Looks like Raymond and Donald are competing with Kevin for the fastest responses with the best answers :) The contributors make this site amazing.

Donald and Kevin are much better then I am, as well as several other contributors.  But I like trying.

I suspect you have more practical experience than I do. I just like to dig in and try to help because that teaches me too.

And part of the reason I often post just after others is because, even if I'm pretty sure I have a solution, if I have access to Access, I like to try to jump on and test out what I'm thinking first, kind of like "proof of concept", so don't end up responding completely wrong. I enjoy it when others give alternate suggestions that are even better so I can learn from it too, but I don't want to give an out right completely inaccurate answer that ends up confusing the person I'm responding to more than helping them.

I have been on this site for about 3 years now and it is fun to see Kevin, Raymond, Alex, Donald, and Sami (and others) jumping in to help. I also love how you guys are competing to solve the problems first. It is pure fun. It is also a little intimidating as I tried for a little while to do the same thing but got beat way too many times to count.

Don't feel intimidated.

Each time I post, I'm only thinking about how to help the person with their questions.  Some of the added comments are just for fun, but that's what keeps it engaging.

I would encourage you, and anyone else to join in and have a fun place we all learn from each other.

I feel the same way Raymond. Helping people reinforces our knowledge. The only thing I gave up on why trying to have the FIRST answer. I am on this site every day for about an hour. I just love it.

Just kidding. I absolutely love it when I take a few minutes to sit down and read through the forums and I see questions and you guys already have 5 solutions to a problem. It just gives me a great sense of pride that we have this kind of community here. It's thanks to all you guys, because I certainly can't keep up with all these posts. I've got 10,000+ posts and comments on my own website that I haven't read - and yes, I have that stat on my admin page. LOL
