Query Data Disappearing
David Clement

This has been happening to different databases I have made. I create a Database, then create a Query for the database, then when all is built, and seemingly running okay, I click on a Query and it says words to the effect of "Must Have At Least One Destination Field". I then redo the Query with the same fields, and all is well again.
What is happening?
Is Access itself freaking out? Maybe my computer?

Things to look at:

First thing I would try is to Compact & Repair the database.

If that doesn't resolve it, then try to think of any changes you've made to the supporting structure and dependencies of the query. For example, have any field names changed? Have you renamed any tables or changed any underlying queries.

If the query contains any formulas, sometimes Access doesn't automatically update field names in formulas, especially custom formulas and functions. If they relate to any VBA or Macros, do the VBA or Macros reference any fields, tables, or queries that may have moved or changed names, etc.

If there have been no structural changes and Compact & Repair doesn't resolve it (that's the quick list I go through), then I'd recommend going through the Access Troubleshooter

Had a similar problem and it was due to the fact that after creating the Query, I clicked on the view button, the Query looked fine, but I didn't hit the "Run" button (Exclamation mark next to the "View" button). If I saved the Query after viewing I would sometimes get that error, but if I ran the Query, then saved it all was good. This, of course, is just my 2¢ and what works for me....
