Double Click Event Question
Lee Shastid

I have a form that has combo box for Dealer. I have a double click event to open form for the dealer. Code is DoCmd.OpenForm"DealerF",,,"DealerID="&DealerID. It works just fine. It opens to the dealers name that's in that field.
I have another form that has the Dealer combo in it as well. When I click on the dealer name in that box it just opens to the same dealer every time and not the correct one. I have checked the row source, control source and they are the same in both forms. Only difference I see is ion the code it will not work with the 3 commas after DealerF, it has to be 2 commas to open the form to the same dealer everytime. Any Ideas?

I think you answered your own question, The commas are important.

On one you're setting a filtername, on the other you're setting the where condition correctly.

As you type in the vba window and add commas you should see what you're doing in the tooltip thing.

Adam I dont think I explained my issue correctly. I apologize. If I use the third comma when I double click i get the debug dialog box and this comes up. See screenshot

Lee What is the error message you are receiving?

Kevin when I use the third comma in this double click event exactly as it is in the double click for the same field just different form I get the message above that is highlighted. That is from cut and paste from the other double click event or if I type it manually. If I remove one of the commas the double click works but it always opens to the same in this case (Dealer). Ex: if Joes Auto Sales is in the one working correctly it opens the form to his details. If it says Joes Auto Sales in the non working one it opens to another vendors form.

Kevin Thank you. That solved it. Do I need to change it on the other one also since it is working?
