I found what i did wrong. It's not status "" but me.statusbox = "".

Steven that is strange. You do not need the "me." Because StatusBox is a field in the form, not a property of the form.

"me." Is optional for fields and mandatory for property.

No, indeed not, although it workes. My mistake was that I wrote to the status box by using status "", which simply added an empty line and not clearing it.

Sami - I've found that AI loves to use me.objectname all me.thetime. :D and me.noobjectname gets irritated when it does that.

Yeah, the AI is just being formal and proper. You don't need the 'me' if you're referring to fields on the form. You do need it if you're referring to properties, usually.

I always us the Me. prefix when referring to form fields as I find that when I'm reading code this method helps distinguish between form fields, table fields (columns), variables, constants, etc,. Sometimes "where SampleId = " & SampleId might cause a little confusion if I'm reviewing code with a VBA beginner.
