Code to Go Through Queries and Find Unused
David Campbell

My data base program after 1.75 years is almost done,  Was cleaning things up and  had a very large amount of saved queries.  Would have been a nightmare to find all the unused ones.  I created a module code to map all the dependencies and a simple query to find unused ones.  Worked great  then just changed the name and added z in front  ran database for awhile, then deleted them saved a lot of time.  If anyone would like to know how it was done give me a response,  Turned out to be a great utility.

Thanks for the offer David.  I too would like to find unused queries and find that using the database documenter produces mega volumes of text.  Even though I can find individual queries via Ctrl F, it would be nice to find a less voluminous method.

This just gives a list of every query that seems to have no dependencies    no 40 to 100 pages   Will put this in today

1st is to go to file  options  current database and set show system objects and hidden objects in navigation.  Then make a table ObjectDependencyT with fields ObjectID  ObjectName  ObjecyType  PrpoertyName  ReferencedQuery

Run biulddependencymap in immediate window  it will take awhile if you have alot of queries, mine took 16 min to run.  then run UnusedQ query and ull get a simple list which I added z at front of name then ran database and checked before deleting them

Thanks so much David.  This will certainly help me to clean up my database...Should have been deleting this stuff as I went along but you know how that goes.
