Suggestion for a Access Project!
Robert M. Lilly

I would like to make a suggestion. I spend the better part of the day sitting in front of my computer.  When my wife goes out I have to answer the telephone. I have Caller ID, but most of the time it only shows a telephone number.  If I don’t recognize it I let it go to the answering machine.
There might be some money to be had for you if you could develop a course built around Access’ ability to secure the needed information to be displayed on the computer monitor, information on the calling party.
I’m sure there are a lot of your students who are like me, who never develop any programs but enjoy taking them. This would give them an opportunity to build something that they could use personally and develop for friends and family. Imagine the joy one would have every time they received an incoming call, if the name and a picture, if they are stored in the data base, would pop up on the monitor.
You are always asking for idea’s on projects to develop. Your specialty and your favorite is Access. Why not develop courses that would draw your students into using it for personal use.  Such as a food shopping list based on a vlookup table, checking account, appointment manager, calling list, things to be done, charitable gifts, such as money or items given to Goodwill etc, I’m sure the list could go on forever. I was thinking along the lines of your first Access Courses; start with Caller ID as a beginner then adding additional courses that would add a food shopping list. For that one you could contact one of your local supermarkets to get a list of the most common items they sell, or they could fill-in the fields themselves.
I would be interested in your views on my suggestions.
Bob
