Access 32 v 64 Bit

Compatibility between the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Access.
I know that most Access developers use the 32 Bit version of Access. But most all new computers come out with the 64 Bit version of Office now.
So as a developer it is good to make sure that your custom App that you may be building is Compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Access for your end users.
Always be sure to make your "Declare Function" that you use "Declare PtrSafe Function" You should also use the " LongPtr , PtrSafe and LongLong "
This will make sure that your Functions are Compatible with 64 Bit.
Maybe Master Richard can do a Training Video on it more in detail I know he's just setting around twiddling his thumbs waiting on something to do.:)
I know when you spend years building a custom App and then you have to go back and re-code it to make it Compatible with 64 Bit is a BIG headache.
Believe me, I just had to do it, Not Fun. So anyway study up on 32 bit 64 bit Compatibility Code.. Happy Programming. :)

Yep. This is actually on my list for a TechHelp video. It's not that difficult if you plan for it ahead of time. In fact, most of my older databases are 32 bit. I still use 32 bit on my desktop. Microsoft is now releasing Office with 64 bit the default install (which I hate). But I'll be showing people how to deal with it. Full databases (ACCDB) aren't usually a problem, but when you make an ACCDE to distribute, you HAVE to be in the right bit mode. More to come...

Hey Rick, I would also be interested in your thoughts on this. Add me to the list for this video :).
