Parameter Value message

I am very sorry for mu questions, is there any setup in ACCESS or WINDOW that will not permit to run these commands.  I am now having the same issues with the VLOOKUP video,  the Enter Parameter V message.
A majority of the things that I try do not work and I am getting the same messages.  Could this be my problem I had with CHECK REGISTER seminar?  Dont worry I am not going back there  The program is putting the brackets around the table and name.
I sure do appreciate your time and effort to help me.
Thanks again
Tim

Access will assume it's a Field which is why you get the square brackets [], it's fine to just remove them.
When you remove them and save are they coming back?

Would also help if you can copy out your VLOOKUP statement so we can see exactly what you have as that could help determine why it isn't working

My three statements usded in my query are as follows"
1.  LG: DLookUp("GradeLetter","GradeT","GradeMinValue=" & [Grade])

2.  G:DMax("GradeMinValue", "GradeT", "GradeMinValue >=" & "Grade")

3.  LG: DLookUp("GradeLetter","GradeT","GradeMinValue=" & [G])

Each time I run the query the brackets get placed around each table and field.Thanks,
Yim

Access may put brackets around your field and table names. That's normal. 1 and 3 are correct. 2 is not.

The first one I can not get to run either.  I still get the Paramter V messages.  Here is my first Statement.  I can not see where I am wrong.
LG: DLookUp("GradeLetter","GradeT","GradeMinValue=" & [Grade])

The second is after I run the query.  I know about the brackets.  Can you correct my first.  I am jast trynig to get one done at a time
LG: DLookUp(["GradeLetter"],["GradeT"],["GradeMinValue]=["] & [Grade])

Guys,
You probable won't believe this but here goes.  I started a new database.  First let me tell you one thing about myself.  I do all my work in Word and the paste it into a query.  Well last night I typed in the statements very carefully and with a little bit of editing the query actually ran.  I am so sorry for all your work.  I will skip the copy and paste if I am able.  You see I am almost blind, I still stand behind my issues with CHECK REGISTER.
Thanks for all your help.

If you've typed it in on Word it's likely using Smart Quotes, which when copied into Access would prob cause an error, would need to check.

“ != " (& #8220;)
” != " (& #8221;)

‘ != ' (& #8217;)
’ != ' (& #8217;)

Don't use Word. If anything use Notepad. I personally prefer Notepad++. I cleaned up your smart quotes above, but yeah... don't do that. :)

And I feel ya... I'm blind too. 100% in one eye, and my other eye ain't that better either. Crank up the contrast and brightness. Get a good pair of glasses. Lower the screen resolution and/or jack up the font size. I sit nice and close to my 4 screens too. Unlike what mom told you growing up, TVs don't cause cancer (CRTs gave off very little radiation. LCDs and LEDs give off ZERO).
