Query Field Order
Leon Heick

I created a query and selected the fields in the order I wanted them to appear in the query. I rearranged the order but they display in the same order as before the change. What to I need to do to resolve this issue?

You mean in the query run view? In design view, I don't think it matters how you move them, I think its stuck in the order that you added the fields into the query.

Just move the order of them the run view and save it. Then when you open it again it'll have your saved order.

Look at the automatic numbering of records tech help video this might spark an idea.  I have it as part of Developer 22.  The tech help video brings it all toghether but Developer22 with recordset kicks in like a turbo for this.

WOW my thoughts where way off... I see what your saying.  you are looking for the fields to line up in a certain order.  I was thinking you are trying to sort the records.  Please forgive.  only thing I can say is I had something like that happened Adam is right Save but close the query and reopen it.   Funny thing happen when you don't close and reopen

Leon, if you want to change the order in which the fields are displayed in Datasheet View, just rearrange them as you want, SAVE the query, then close it. When you open it again they should be displayed in that order. Design view doesn't affect the datasheet view display order. However, I don't recommend you rely on this method. Use a Form instead if the display order is significant to you.
