Tab Color Bug
Adam Schwanz

5 years ago
Anyone using tabs like this ever see this bug? It works perfectly fine 99% of the time then randomly decides it wants to black out everything. First image is error, second image is how it normally acts.

Using code
Private Sub Form_Open(Cancel As Integer)
    TabOnColor = RGB(255, 76, 100)
    TabOffColor = RGB(200, 200, 200)
    SetAllTabsOff
End Sub

Private Sub OfficeTab_Click()
     SetAllTabsOff
     EntitySubF.SourceObject = "MainOfficeSubF"
     OfficeTab.BackColor = TabOnColor
End Sub

etc..

Forgot to include this sub

Private Sub SetAllTabsOff()
     OfficeTab.BackColor = TabOffColor
     BuilderTab.BackColor = TabOffColor
     PartsTab.BackColor = TabOffColor
     TQTab.BackColor = TabOffColor
     ShopTab.BackColor = TabOffColor
     AdminTab.BackColor = TabOffColor
End Sub

I have noticed that once in a while. I just assumed it was an anomaly on my system. I also get subforms that appear all white sometimes. I close the form and reopen it and everything is OK. Worst case, I restart Access. I can't fix it if I can't reliably reproduce it.

Just to be clear for everyone else, those are my custom tabs that I create in my ABCD database. Adam isn't talking about the default normal Tab control in Access... which is Evil... and I hate it.

I haven't seen the white sub form yet. And yea I just have to close form/open it back up and all is fine, just curious if anyone had seen this before.

And yea, these these are not the default tab controls in access, these are the ones made by a professional ;)
