ACCDE VBA Not Working
Leo Rivera

Hi you all!
I did a code on a check mark that it is supposed to open another form.  I have my table split therefore I have to create a Front End file (ACCDE). The problem is the ACCDE file do not execute the VB code.  I click and nothing happen.  However on the accdb file work fine.  What I missed?

Is it in a trusted location?

What to do to convert in trust location? Well I really do not know what to do to be sure if is or not trusted?

Go to File -> Options -> Trust Center. Click Trust Center Settings, then click the Trusted Locations tab. See if your file location is in there.

Did you compile it from the VBA menu?

Does an enable button show when you open it
Does an auto exec macro run at start up.
Do any buttons work?

Like Alex said, did you compile it in the ACCDB before making it an ACCDE? I've seen that break ACCDEs before.

Otherwise I would review Troubleshooter and try a few of the more applicable ones. Like trying another PC, compacting, compiling, etc.

Sorry but I do not understand! What do you mean with compile it? Instruction please. And how can I show you the break ACCDEs?

Try those 2, compile and compact in the ACCDB file, after they are done, then make the ACCDE and see if it works.

I am having the same problem.  I have followed the steps from earlier posts.  I made the trusted location, I do not have an enable button or any autoexec macros. I do have buttons on the main menu that work to open forms. I have also done the compile and also the compact and repair.  So far no luck. Will watch the troubleshooter video next.

This problem is so difficult to diagnose without seeing your full database... but it's usually something that's not right in your code. VERY hard to diagnose if you have any Late Binding going on because the compiler won't throw error messages and the code just won't work.

I went back through the VBA and found some empty subs that I had not removed. Once those were removed I redid the compile and compact and repair.  Now the VBA is working in the accde file.  I don't have very much VBA yet in the database and certainly nothing very complex.  As this database develops would it best to create a new accde file for testing each time I add code?

I'd say keep daily rotating backups. That's one of the reasons I love Google Drive. It will keep version history for you. And yeah, any time you add anything significant, I'd recompile and test.
