Web Browser Control

Hi fellow Axxies!

I've got a doozie of an issue with a client app. They have an application where a work order report has to have a map of the location, which they use Google Maps for. So the idea is that on the form that's filled out for evaluation, they go to Google Maps using the Web Browser control, then that form has to print or go to a report.

The problem is that the Web Browser control is like a vampire - it will not print on a report, or even on the original form - it appears in Form View but as soon as I go to print view (same with a report) the control vanishes.

So bottom line is, I need to find a way to select a Google or Bing Maps on a Web Browser control, and find a way to get that map onto a report.

Maybe this is a topic for an extended cut video? :) We have a solution developed by one of our senior programmers that kind of solves this by making the Google Map into a graphic and attach that to the report, but there are technical difficulties doing that which are too long to describe here.

Interesting one. I know you can print the WebBrowser control, but not as part of a report. The .print method just sends what's in the browser right to the printer. Never done anything like this before.

Two thoughts come to mind for me.
1) If you are sending the report as a PDF you could output the link to  the map in the pdf.  The end user could click the link and open the map.

2) You could capture the map and save it to your hard drive like in the Images videos.  Then insert the map into your reports as an image.

I haven't tried either of these just trying to think outside of the box.
